This is a great timer for the price. It does exactly what is advertised. The description is spot on. and fit in the space described. The programming is a little clunky but perfectly adequate. The catalogue description is accurate and only leaves out the fact that the contact forms are dry relay. Overall well worth the investment for a 2 channel spst dry contact control with independent actuation times. A very good buy.
Product FeaturesEasy to use, Great value for money, High Quality, Durable/Performs well

I'm looking for a wire nut tool to use with a drill.

Hello,

The product number 4FA32 Ideal #30-902 fits the 6YH58 Ideal #30-451 Yellow wire nut and the 6YH59 Ideal #30-452 Red wire nut. I have not tried this tool but I am looking forward to getting one and trying it out.The only drawback I can see is that the tool only fits the Ideal Red and Yellow wire nuts so you are limited to the Ideal brand. Not a bad thing, just limiting.

If you should need more information the specific part number(s). Please contact a sales representative, local branch or call us at 1-800-323-0620, so we can further assist with your project.

Connectors for chandelier wiring

I install chandeliers new wiring patterns consist of hot lead and neutral coming down to fixture from ceiling junction mount box. There are two wires for each bulb stem base thus 6 hot 6 neutral looking for a single connector to connect all wires instead of using winter nuts for 6 wires plus lead.
Hello,

As you did not indicate the size of the wiring I will use the typical wiring for lighting fixtures. This is usually 12 gauge for the supply house wiring and 14-16 gauge for the light fixture. If the supply wiring is a 12 gauge stranded wire then either of the products below will be fine. If the supply wiring is a 12 gauge solid wire then you should use the Ideal product listed as it is specified to accept 12 gauge solid wire. The first is a 3M Brand product with a product number: 4DYW6 This is a 3 port connector where you would insert the wires into the connector and crimp the wire down. They are the simplest to use and are Gel Filled/ Moisture Resistant aiding in prevention of failure by keeping moisture out of the wiring. The other is a Ideal brand product with a product number: 5VYJ5 This is a 4 port connector where you would strip the wires and insert the wires into the connector. As a personal preference, I would use the 3M product over the Ideal as I would prefer that the connection be compressed. I like the Ideal product except in a very hard to get to area. The Ideal product operates by spring tension against the wire and could weaken over time. I would also note that the 3M device is a larger version of the Scotchlok Connector from automotive history . As such the 3M product is preferred by me but by a minor margin.

Suggested installation steps. 4DYW6
You have 6 power wires (Black) so take two of them and a piece of the black wire. Insert the two wires from the lights into two of the ports, take the loose black wire and insert into the remaining port, crimp with pliers. Now take take two of the wires from the lights and a piece of the black wire. Insert the two wires from the lights into two of the ports, take the loose black wire and insert into the remaining port, crimp with pliers. Now take take the last two of the wires from the lights and a piece of the black wire. Insert the two wires from the lights into two of the ports, take the loose black wire and insert into the remaining port, crimp with pliers. Now you take two of the loose black wires from the connectors and trim the slack by cutting. Take these wires and a piece of the black wire. Insert the two wires from the connectors into two of the ports, take the loose black wire and insert into the remaining port, crimp with pliers. Now you take the two black wires that are loose from the connectors and the wire from the light switch and trim the slack by cutting. Take these three wires. Insert the two wires from the connectors into two of the ports, take the black wire from the light switch and insert into the remaining port, crimp with pliers.

Now you repeat the process with the white wiring.
Then you should be finished.

Suggested installation steps. 5VYJ5
