I have a Carrier heat pump system with a 2nd stage oil furnace backup. No problem with the main progammable thermostat. Problem is the thermostat in basement that controls the point at which the heat pump shuts down and oil backup comes on is an old Carrier Energy Optimizer Control that no longer works properly. It has an outdoor temp sensor connected to a solid copper wire that runs through the wall to the outside and can be set at the optimal temp where the heat pump is no longer efficient. I would like to replace this control with a non programmable digital thermostat with an wireless outdoor temp sensor. Any products to recommend?
